Arrival
in Olympic National Park
It was a joy
to meet with our long-time friend, Barry Brisebois, whom we have not seen in
many years. He had served as the best
man at my wedding and it was our hope that he would be able to celebrate our 40th
anniversary this past summer. A bout of
thyroid cancer prevented him from participating in the celebration and we were
saddened by his absence. He has an
infinite knowledge of hiking trails and a thirst for encountering things which
are both interesting and beautiful in the natural environment. We are grateful for this chance to spend some
time with him in this wonderful place.
